Mike Parker
Chairman of the WOCT Board.
Mike’s career was in public transport starting as a management trainee with London Transport, then a spell as head of operations at Centro in the West Midlands and then for 12 years he was CEO of Nexus, the passenger transport executive in the north-east.
After retirement he was a paid non-executive director with Northumbria Healthcare trust and the Northumberland Tourist Board. He was a trustee of homeless charity Changing Lives for 10 years and honorary secretary of the Webb Memorial Trust for 25 years.
More recently he was a governor of Ruskin college in Oxford and a volunteer director of west Oxfordshire Community Transport in Witney.
He currently is a humanist funeral celebrant and volunteers as a Samaritan.
He was awarded an OBE in 2014.
